These days I am doing 40 minutes in 2 tranches of 20 minutes each on the treadmill. Earlier I used to do 20 minutes on the elliptical and 20 minutes on the treadmill. I was wondering if the treadmill was best for me or what. I googled up and found this answer which was interesting. So from tomorrow a change will be in.
Kavya’s school has been preponed by 15 minutes so will start at 0830 from today until December 18, 2009 ostensibly for the Annual Day practice…. Gosh what a ridiculous idea. To keep up the timings I have now set my alarm to go off at 0500 against the 0520 earlier and this morning I was at the gym at 0630 and back home at 0730 to wake her up. Naturally was in the office at 0845 and as has become a ritual for me these days, was the one to open the office. I fail to understand the rationale of the school authorities that be in starting 15 minutes early and ending 90 minutes early… Why can’t they cut the number of days in school. Parents that way will be less stressed out and students too can sleep more….
Today, October 20, 2009 is the day we get back to office after 3 days of Diwali break. Have been sleeping like a log. For the last 2 weeks have been skipping gym on some pretext or another. Travelling, unwell, sleepy …. kind of a google search result page for the word excuses. Have been relishing the Diwali savouries unendingly…. So finally took the plunge today and went to Matunga Gymkhana only to find that both the ellipticals were out of order:-( Settled for the treadmill for 20 minutes and then returned home. Hope the ellipticals get back on track soon or then they should do away with this rule of no more than 20 minutes on the treadmills till that period.
Every morning at the gym I have to request for lowering of the volume once I enter. The music is blaring away to glory. I for one listen to podcasts / self help stuff on the ipod daily and even with the volume set to full I am unable to listen to it. Mind you I use in ear head phones so the music I guess is definitely very loud. I have had a similar problem at Otters when using the treadmill. Wonder if all gyms have this same ritual? Maybe someone can write about his or her own experience.
